Mission...

AFFA is a social justice organization achieving equality and acceptance for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

We're gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender persons and straight allies uniting to eliminate prejudice based on sexual orientation. We have over 1600 donor/members and friends of AFFA and are headquartered in Charleston, SC.

Within our site, you'll find our operating principles, some of our programs and activities, outstanding educational resources, links, ways to support us, and an application for membership.

Charleston Rally for MARRIAGE EQUALITY with Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA) and our cosponsors on the steps of the US Custom House—East Bay Street in Charleston.

We gather on the 48th anniversary of the Selma march and on the eve of the Supreme Court hearings about whether lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans should have the freedom to marry. We are joining organizations in cities across the nation to shine a light on the broad support for marriage equality from coast to coast.
6:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2013 on the steps of the U.S. Custom House at East Bay and Market Streets in downtown Charleston.

The event is free and open to the public. All LGBT people and allies who believe in equality and justice are encouraged to attend. An exciting lineup of speakers will be published.

The event sponsors: AFFA, ACLU, Charleston Area Transgender Support, Charleston Pride, Charleston Social Club, Circular Congregational Church, College of Charleston Women's and Gender Studies, SC Log Cabin Republicans, Metropolitan Community Church, PFLAG, SC Progressive Network, Secular Coalition for South Carolina, Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry, St Padre Pio Old Catholic Church, St Stephen's Episcopal Church, Stonewall Democrats, Takeover Charleston, the Vestry and Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Church in Charleston, Unity Church, Unity Fellowship Church of Charleston, We Are Family, Charleston Peace and the Charleston Green Party
