Message from Nannette: "I’ve made a commitment to working with the LGBTQ community back in the 90s when I lost my uncle to AIDS, I was in graduate school training to be a therapist. My son is gay, as a parent of a gay person I continue advocacy.

As a a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I’ve provided therapy for HIV/AIDS persons. I’m also a school counselor and have counseled young people with sexual/gender identity issues and helped parents as well. Helping recover from religious trauma is a large part of my work.

I have a safe, private office in West Ashley. Plenty of parking, gender neutral bathroom, and a large conference room to facilitate groups. Individual, couples, group counseling available."

Practice: Fireweed Collective offers mental health education and mutual aid through a Healing Justice lens. They help support the emotional wellness of all people, and center the needs of those most marginalized by our society. Their work seeks to disrupt the harm of systems of abuse and oppression, often reproduced by the mental health system.
