3. Sine Die: The Clock Is Ticking
Thursday, May 14 at 5:00 PM – that's the moment the South Carolina legislative session comes to a close. Known as Sine Die, this is the hard deadline when all undecided bills must be put to rest or die on the floor, only to be reintroduced next session.
So, where do we stand?
This session, the AFFA Action team has fended off many anti-LGBTQ+ related bills. While we grieve the passage of H.4756, the anti-trans bathroom bill, we stand firm in our accomplishment of blocking many other harmful legislative efforts. The fight is nowhere near over, and we invite you to continue following AFFA Action as the legislative session concludes and we enter mid-term elections.
4. Participate in a Paid Research Study with MUSC
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking individuals aged 30 or older for a research study aimed at understanding decision-making needs for anal cancer screening. Your input can help improve health communication and screening options for the community.
What's involved: Complete a brief, anonymous 15–20 minute survey. Results will be kept confidential.
Compensation: If you qualify, you will receive a $10 gift card for your participation.
Ready to help? Use the link here to take the survey.
Thank you for helping advance important health research that serves our community.
