Message from the Practice Director: Open Minds Therapy is a certified LGBTBE® (LGBT Business Enterprise) committed to providing LGBTQIA+ affirming, gender-affirming, and trauma-informed mental health care. Our practice proudly centers queer and trans experiences in every aspect of clinical work, community engagement, and operational ethos.

We specialize in evidence-based trauma treatments, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or “tapping”), helping clients release the emotional imprint of trauma, restore nervous system balance, and reclaim personal empowerment. These modalities are especially effective for LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating complex trauma, identity-based stress, or systemic harm.

As a gender-affirming practice, we understand that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Whether clients are transitioning, exploring identity, facing family rejection, or managing the lasting effects of marginalization, we offer clinical care rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and lived experience.
