5 Things to Know - 4/4/2025
1. We're Moving!
AFFA has a new home - and we’re in great company.
We’re excited to share that we’re moving into the shared community space with We Are Family and Charleston Pride at: 3265 N. Carolina Avenue, Suite 202, North Charleston, SC 29405
We’re thrilled to be in a space filled with shared values, collaboration, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Can’t wait to welcome you there soon!
2. Volunteer Spotlight
We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing volunteers—and we're going to highlight YOU! Whether you’ve helped out at an event, made calls, staffed tables, or supported us in other ways, we want to celebrate your contributions.
We’ll be sharing volunteer shout-outs all month long, so keep an eye out for a few familiar faces on our socials!
3. Hands Off SC: Events Across the State
This Friday, April 5, the Hands Off movement is holding a nationwide protest to defend our rights and services from ongoing attacks. From education and Medicaid to LGBTQ+ rights, Trump’s agenda is threatening our communities - and we’re speaking out.
Join us and thousands across the country to say: Hands off our services. Hands off our rights. Hands off our communities.

4. A Note on Chase’s Departure
After over a decade of leadership, Chase Glenn is stepping down as AFFA’s Executive Director. Chase’s passion, advocacy, and vision have been instrumental in shaping AFFA into the powerful force it is today. While we’ll miss him deeply, we are excited for what’s next—for both Chase and for AFFA.
Stay tuned for more updates on this leadership transition and ways you can celebrate Chase’s legacy with us.
5. Rescheduled - Advocacy 201: Power Mapping
Our Advocacy 201: Power Mapping workshop, originally scheduled for this Saturday, has been canceled.
We’re working on rescheduling and will let you know as soon as the new date is set. Thanks for your understanding - and stay tuned for the updated training!
